Secure CRM Coupon Distribution & Closed-Loop Redemption Tracking
Print@Home CRM Integration Coupon Galleries Direct Links Phone Verification Serialized Coupons Redemption Tracking Clearinghouse Integration
Client Challenge
Objective
- Integrate Print@Home coupons into the existing CRM.
- Deliver coupons through embedded galleries and direct links.
- Strengthen consumer authentication and reduce coupon abuse.
- Track serialized coupon redemption through clearinghouse reporting.
Solution
1. CRM Integration
2. Multi-Factor Consumer Authentication
The client initially authenticated consumers using only the email address associated with their CRM account. While convenient, email-only authentication has inherent limitations. Consumers can create multiple email addresses—or use temporary or disposable email accounts—to obtain additional coupons, making it difficult to enforce per-person limits and increasing the risk of coupon abuse.
To address this, we implemented a secondary authentication layer using SMS-based phone verification. Consumers first authenticated through the client's CRM and then verified ownership of a mobile phone using a one-time passcode before accessing their coupon. By requiring both a valid CRM account and a unique mobile phone number, the client significantly strengthened consumer verification while maintaining a simple user experience.
In addition this did not require the client to make a change to their existing CRM process.
Benefits
- Reduced abuse from multiple or disposable email accounts.
- Improved enforcement of one-coupon-per-consumer policies.
- Increased confidence that coupons were reaching real, verified consumers.
- Strengthened campaign integrity without requiring consumers to create new accounts.
- Added an additional layer of fraud prevention while keeping the consumer experience simple.
3. Clearinghouse Redemption Integration
We integrated serialized Print@Home coupon data with clearinghouse redemption files to provide complete campaign visibility. Each issued coupon contained a unique serialized barcode that could be matched with redemption records received from the clearinghouse, enabling closed-loop reporting from distribution through in-store redemption.
The Client Could Measure:
-
Coupons issued
-
Coupons Printed
-
Coupons redeemed
-
Redemption rates
-
Consumer-level redemption history
-
Overall campaign effectiveness
Results
The solution enabled the client to securely distribute personalized Print@Home coupons through its existing CRM, strengthen consumer authentication, reduce coupon abuse, and connect coupon issuance directly to redemption reporting. The result was a more secure coupon program with complete visibility into campaign performance from delivery through redemption.
